Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a treatment in which a solution is used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin. This type of treatment enhances and smoothes the texture of the skin. It is an effective treatment for facial blemishes. It will also reduce and or eliminate fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation. It absolutely rejuvenates your skin!

Chemical peels are not limited to just the facial area. We also treat forearms, hands and the upper part of the chest and neck area.

At the Raffa Laser Center, we use three different types of peels:

• A Glycolic Peel is a great general type of peel. It is water soluble and works nicely on most skin types. It accelerates the turnover of skin cells and restores steadiness to the skin. Making the skin look alive and vibrant.
• A Lactic Peel is the optimal choice for dry, sun damaged, and the person who wants a light peel. It is a natural humectant, pulling moisture from the collagen levels to the surface of the skin. It will exfoliate the outer surface of the skin and encourage new cell turnover.
• A Jessner Peel is a deeper peel for experienced persons only. It is wonderful for acne and extensive sun damaged skin. The peel will cause a “frosting” on the skin almost immediately upon application. Your skin will feel like a mild sun burn and tight. A few days later you will get some peeling. After a week, nothing but smooth skin!
